Upgrade or downgrade your plan
Plan changes happen from Billing in the portal nav. Click Change plan, pick your new tier, and confirm. There's no email-back-and-forth — the change is live in seconds.
Upgrades take effect immediately
When you upgrade, the new features unlock right away and Stripe pro-rates the difference for the remainder of your current billing month. You'll see the pro-rated charge as a single line on your next invoice.
For example: if you're on Growth (£20/month) and upgrade to Pro (£50/month) on day 15 of a 30-day month, you'll be charged about £15 immediately for the second half of the month, then £50/month going forward.
Downgrades take effect at the end of the period
You won't lose what you've already paid for. The downgrade is scheduled for your billing renewal date — you keep your current plan's features until then.
A small banner in the portal will remind you the downgrade is pending. You can cancel the scheduled downgrade any time before the renewal date from the same Billing page.
What happens to over-limit shops
If you're on a plan that allows multiple shops and you downgrade to a plan with a lower shop cap, your extra shops are not deleted — they're locked.
A locked shop:
- Stays in your account permanently — nothing is destroyed
- Shows a lock icon in the shop switcher
- Hides from the discover screen (so new customers can't join)
- Continues to honour existing customers' cards (they can still earn and redeem)
- Can be switched to in the portal but you can't make changes
To unlock a shop, either upgrade your plan or delete one of your other shops. The lock is purely a soft cap — your data is always safe.
Changing your billing card
Click Manage billing on the Billing page. This opens Stripe's hosted Customer Portal where you can update your card, download invoices, or change your billing email.
Past-due / failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, you'll see a red banner across the top of the portal until you fix it. We retry automatically for up to two weeks. See What to do if a payment fails for the full process.
